Our Managing Partner, Dr. Eddy M. Leks shared his opinion with Kompas national newspaper on Monday, 30 January 2023 on a theme of “A Foreigner Can Own Residence (Warga Asing Bisa Miliki Hunian).”
Eddy Leks, called as “real estate law practitioner,” said that “the challenge now is to implement the issued regulations.” He also raised an issue on the supervision of the transaction for a house or an apartment unit to a foreigner since there is a minimum sale price. He emphasized that the government should regulate whether the supervision will be conducted by the Land Conveyancing Officer or a developer? This is relevant since the house or apartment unit should be bought from the primary market, but also secondary market.
