Jakarta, July 2024. Our Managing Partner, Dr. Eddy M. Leks shared his opinion with Kontan  and published in a column titled “Government Targets Dozens of Land Mafia Cases (Pemerintah Bidik Puluhan Kasus Mafia Tanah)” on 16 July 2024.

Dr. Leks argues that any land dispute can hinder the development of an area, not only because of the land mafia, but due to a land ownership dispute. When the land dispute has occurred, then the sale of the land by the developer cannot be carried out, until it is resolved, either through reconciliation or a final and binding court decision. This is because the disputed land plot may be declared as status quo or confiscated.
