Jakarta, July 2022. Our CEO of Leks&Co, Eddy Leks writes an article titled “Nusantara: Authority on Land” as published in the Legal View section in Forbes Indonesia magazine July 2022 edition.

The law on the state’s new capital was promulgated on 15 February 2022, followed by a presidential regulation, enacted on 18 April 2022. Until the transfer to the new capital occurs, the state capital remains with DKI Jakarta.

By the end of this year, the Authority of Nusantara Capital will start its operation. Land procurement for the new capital will be achieved through the relinquishment of forest area and by land procurement. The latter is divided into land procurement through a public interest framework and by business-to-business land procurement. The Authority will have the right to bind itself with any individual or legal entity through an agreement on land-related matters in the new capital.

Leks&Co is recommended on commercial dispute resolution by Legal500, asialaw Profiles, and Benchmark Litigation. One Client said, as quoted by Legal500 2022, “Leks & Co team has a very committed team and they put their best effort.
