Jakarta, December 2024. Our Dr. Eddy Marek Leks shared his insights in a workshop titled “Arbitration Practice as an Alternative Dispute Resolution” organized by the National Research and Innovation Agency (Badan Riset dan Inovasi Nasional – BRIN). BRIN is a government institution under the President, responsible for conducting research, development, studies, and applications, as well as invention and innovation, nuclear energy management, and integrated space management.

The workshop’s first session delved into various essential aspects of arbitration law, such as the theoretical foundations, regulatory frameworks, important doctrines, and procedural practices of arbitration in both domestic and international settings. The second session discusses on the various legal cases through jurisprudence on different perspectives, involving the validity of arbitration agreement, parties subject to the arbitration agreement, challenge to the domestic arbitration award, challenge to the international arbitration award, and setting aside of the award due to violation of public order.

Eddy M.
