Jakarta, January 2022. Dr. Eddy M. Leks shared his insight to the postgraduate degree students of Universitas Indonesia on the philosophy of law of John Finnis particularly on how Finnis differentiates legal obligation in the legal sense and legal obligation in the moral sense. Dr. Leks also provides some comparison and conflicts between the thoughts of Finnis and Robert Alexy especially on the legal norm considered as unjust. During the session, Eddy shared his own view on what are the strengths of Finnis’ thought and some of his disagreements with Finnis.

Dr. Leks obtained his doctoral degree on philosophy and wrote about jurisprudence (philosophy of law). His dissertation has been published as a book in June 2022. Eddy is a registered arbitrator at BANI Arbitration Center.
